Volunteer to Help with Free Book Fridays
We are looking for help with our Free Book Friday giveaways that take place most Fridays from November through May. We are planning to hand out books from our donation boxes for FREE to our students after school, and we are looking for volunteers to help run these giveaways!
Free Book Friday volunteering involves:
Arrive at 2:00pm and check in as a visitor in the main office.
Set up folding tables and preselected books on the playground.
From 2:30pm to 2:50pm, facilitate book giveaways by helping children select books and restocking tables as needed.
At 2:50pm, return leftover books to the boxes. Move boxes and folding tables back inside.

Classroom Help
Each classroom has a variety of needs, from event coordination to serving as Room Parents. Get in touch if you want to find out about opportunities to assist your child’s specific class.
Event Support
Our events run on our volunteers, and we always need help with tasks like selling items, set up and clean up, and promotion leading up to the event. If you love working on events, let us know!
School Day Help
There are daily school needs where families can take part, from lunchroom and recess help to stuffing our Friday Folders. If you’d like to get involved with these types of tasks, reach out.
Community Outreach
Do you love Platt Park and our surrounding neighborhoods and know businesses in the community who might be able to support McT? Get in touch so we can share more about our outreach opportunities.
Fundraising
We need support tackling grants, corporate donations, and individual donations. If you have experience working with fundraising and want to help our school, we’d love your assistance!
General Assistance
If you have an idea or another area where you want to help out, we’re all ears! We love any type of support so please let us know if you have any thoughts, questions or ideas that can help our McT community.
