We rely on the help of our amazing volunteer community that offers support to help enrich both our school and our kids.
Want to get involved? We have plenty of opportunities and need your help! From event planning and fundraising to short-term tasks and behind-the-scenes work, we’d love to work with you.
Here are some of our current needs:
📚 Room Parents This is one of our most important roles, and we promise it is easier than it seems! Our goal is for every teacher to have a room parent before the year starts. Want more information? Reply to this email and we will get back to you with an overview of what's expected and how easy and rewarding this role can be.
📲 Sponsorship Outreach Team Help reach out to local businesses to discuss how they can partner with our school as a sponsor. We already kicked this off with a new system this year and would love to have a few more people to help!
🎉 2027 Auction Committee Our annual auction will take place on March 12, 2027, and the planning has already begun! This year we will need a new auction committee. We already have a comprehensive outline in place and the previous committee will train new volunteers, so you don’t have to worry about starting from scratch!

Classroom Help
Each classroom has a variety of needs, from event coordination to serving as Room Parents. Get in touch if you want to find out about opportunities to assist your child’s specific class.
Event Support
Our events run on our volunteers, and we always need help with tasks like selling items, set up and clean up, and promotion leading up to the event. If you love working on events, let us know!
School Day Help
There are daily school needs where families can take part, from lunchroom and recess help to stuffing our Friday Folders. If you’d like to get involved with these types of tasks, reach out.
Community Outreach
Do you love Platt Park and our surrounding neighborhoods and know businesses in the community who might be able to support McT? Get in touch so we can share more about our outreach opportunities.
Fundraising
We need support tackling grants, corporate donations, and individual donations. If you have experience working with fundraising and want to help our school, we’d love your assistance!
General Assistance
If you have an idea or another area where you want to help out, we’re all ears! We love any type of support so please let us know if you have any thoughts, questions or ideas that can help our McT community.
